Abstract:At the end of 1986 the FRN (floating rate notes) market witnessed its record crash. Now the market regained some kind of posture, there are some questions to answer. Some argued that the fall was long overdue. Others claimed the suddenness of the collapse was caused by a general overcrowding of the market. There are two types of FRN: 1. dated and 2. undated (perpetual). A critic of the perpetual expressed his opinion as follows: It is the first card of the house of the cards. Indeed, the crisis was concentrated on the undated sector.
