Abstract: | A review of how the expiration-day volatility of stock prices can reflect the weakness of the specialist trading system, the regulatory advantages given to specialists, the overall supply of liquidity, how a more competitive stock trading system could increase stock market liquidity and make the futures market trading less risky, the alignment of cash and futures prices would benefit the efficiency of stock market trading and how the increase in the supply of limit orders could reduce price swings. |
