Abstract: | According to the latest yearbook published by British Phonographic Industry /BPI/, the worldwide sales of records and tapes in 1986 were worth about $14 billion, which is $2 billion higher than predicted for 1985. This boom is due to CD which expands mostly at the expense of vinyl disk. The decline in the sales of singles is now a universal fact. |
