Abstract:Trends and changes which take place with the broadcasting industry are examined in this article. In United Kingdom, many small production companies have been sold for big sums to large and influential television program producers, the so called super-indies. The case examples show the different interests and motivations behind the actions of television company owners. Also the relation between art and commercialism is discussed from the broadcasting industry's point of view.
