Abstract:The television market is discussed in sixteen countries of Europe. The market has been static since 1981. Data are presented about the European consumer electronics market by product. Differences between northern and southern consumption patterns are analyzed. The peak in ownership growth has now passed. Growth trends in different countries are outlined.A table is showing TV sales in Europe in the period of 1981-1985. The new flatter squarer tubes are expected to be the key development in TV technology. It may change the replacement cycle in the developed markets. Market penetration ratios are presented together with a sales forecast.
