Abstract:Leisure spending patterns of Great Britain's 16-24 years old were studied and some data are presented. To compile a profile of weekly spending, 1702 diaries were placed in 90 sampling points. Average weekly spending money of the sample after basic living expenses was found to be just over 50 GBP. Drink accounts for the largest proportion of weekly spending, with spending on clothes, jewellery and accessories in the second place, with 13.71 PC and 13.23 PC, respectively. Statistical data on spending on drinks by sex and age groups are given. Data on clothes shopping and fashion are presented and analysed. Spending on sweets, snacks and on eating out is also surveyed. Motoring costs and spending on music by the young are given.
