| Abstract: | The buyout market is going through some major changes at the moment; what's driving them? And are there dangers as well as benefits? Although the UK buyout market recovered last year to reach its second highest value ever, this growth was spurred not by traditional management buyouts (MBO) but by management buy-ins (MBIs) and the recent emergence of the investor buyout (IBO). IBOs are becoming particularly important among larger deals, such as last year's 181m pounds disposal by BBA of Automotive Products. |
