Abstract:This paper considers STS (for 'science and technology studies') aspirations to deal with the field of Organization and Management Studies (OMS), by exploring the employability of the concept of boundary object (here as: c-of-b-o.) in OMS. It is shown that rather than a simple engagement (as: engmt./engmts.) btw. STS and OMS, the relation btw. these two consists of multi-layered (non-)engmts. It is found that the 'successful' uptake of and the active engmt. with the c-of-b-o. in OMS cannot simply be regarded as a (successful) engmt. of STS with OMS.
