| Abstract: | The crisis of population, resources and the environment constitutes the three big obstacles to China's sustained development. The countermeasures proposed by the author are (1) to incorporate the environment in the accounting system of the national economy, (2) to establish the index system for sustained development, (3) to bring the population under control and improve its qualities, (4) to raise the ability of legislation for sustained development, (5) to control State-owned resources as assets, (6) to change the strategies of preventing and harnessing pollution, (7) to develop industries of environmental protection. |
