| Abstract: | This paper analyzes theoretically the relationship between population, resources, environment and sustainable development. It thinks that the problems in population, natural resources and environment would influence the coordinated development of population, resources and environment in Yangtze River area. More importantly they would influence the development of the coming generations. In view of the above problems, this paper puts forward the following countermeasures: 1. taking sustainable development as the development strategy; 2. controlling population and improving its quality; 3. promoting and realizing the sustainable use of resources and environment. |
