Abstract: | The last year's devastating flood in the Yangtze River basin has aroused general concern both at home and abroad. Population proliferation is the basic reason for the occurrence of flooding. It leads to the undue and even blind use of resources, thus causing the damage of ecological environment. Therefore, establishing a coordination relationship between population, resources and environment is the basic way for solving the problem of flood in the basin. Starting from this relationship, we should regulate rivers and watercourses and plant trees scientifically and rationally and raise the quality of population while controlling the quantity of population. |
