Abstract: | The founder of IBM established three basic management principles: respect for the individual, providing the best customer service, and superior accomplishment of all tasks. Recently, major changes have occurred in the Japan business environment. The changes in strategy and in personnel policy at IBM Japan are discussed that have been prompted by a new trends in market and in society. The new directions in human resource planning are: more active hiring and utilization of women, training and increasing number of new recruits, utilization and motivation of middle-aged and older employees who are also increasing in number. |
