Abstract:This article discusses two arguments referring that monetary authority in an open economy should target output price inflation by corresponding to the distortions caused by price rigidity (1) or by consumer price inflation via the exchange rate. The authors examine both arguments in the context of open economy where they are exposed to shocks.
