Abstract:In 1996, changes of China's market of consumer goods were characterized by simultaneous growth of the gross volume of retail sales of consumer goods in both urban and rural areas, stable consumption among residents, multi-level and multiform circulation taking shape, more intense competition between commercial enterprises, brisk market promotion, unbalanced growth of volume of domestic retail sales of consumer goods among different ownership, declining demand for export exerting pressure on increase of profits of domestic consumption markets, and by the lack of big hot spots of marketing, although marketing is mainly promoted by small ones.
