Abstract:In recent years, China's total supply and demand tend balanced. But in terms of residents' consumption, the structural contradiction is more outstanding. The supply of industrial consumer goods exceeds its demand. The consumer goods market has not been developed fully. During the Nine five-year Plan period, stress will be put on the development of rural consumer goods market. To this end, we will try every possible way to raise peasant's income, organise production and marketing according to peasant's demand and create the necessary conditions for the increase of peasants' consumption. Besides, we should also develop urban market, focusing on settling the structural contradictions restricting residents' consumption.
