| Abstract: | After analyzing the characteristics and situation of the national commodity market in 1998, this paper thinks that generally-speaking, there isn't the problem of inadequate demand, but the effective demand growth is slowing down obviously. It holds that the following contribute to it: The urban and rural per capita income growth is slowing down. The proportion of the commodities whose supply exceeds demand increases continuously, which leads to the serious imbalance of supply and demand structure. The diversion of consumption expenditure leads to the fact that the proportion of commodity consumption expenditure becomes smaller. The pulling force of the investment demand of the whole society to market is not strong. |
