Abstract:This report analyses the market for skin care in Italy. For the purposes of the study, the market has been divided into the following four main sectors: facial (nourishers / anti- agers; facial moisturisers; cleanser; toners; toners; face masks); body care (emollients / creams; and cellulite products; body firming products); depilatories (hair removers / bleaches; women's razors / blades; women's pre-shave products); hand care. The paper concludes that growth in skin care products in 2000 was dynamic, at almost 12%. Sales were further bolstered by a series of key product launches. Notable growth areas in 2000 included anti cellulite creams, face masks, led by the hunch of gentle cream formulations, and women's razors, as consumers swapped male products for female specific brands.
