Abstract:The paper investigates traits of deliberative democracy in cases where instruments of political consumerism are developed. Eco-labelling, certificates and standards can be categorized to above mentionned instruments. The study was made by analysing empirical cases relating to eco-labelled and standardized forestry, food and electricity in Sweden. The findings reveal three conditions with ambiguous outcomes in terms of deliberative democracy. Although the cases are Swedish the results can be used as well when analysing other regions.
