Abstract:Herein, two influential arguments for employee participation in firm decision making are considered: What is called 1. the "interest protection argument" and 2. the "autonomy argument". It is argued that the case for granting participation rights to some other stakeholders is at least as strong as the case for granting them to certain employees. It is dealt with how proponents of these arguments might modify their arguments, or views, in response to this conclusion.
