Abstract:A survey carried out to determine British management's attitude to sexual harassment in the workplace is presented. Definitions of sexual harassment and the extent to which legal recommendations are recognized and adopted are outlined. The survey also investigates whether and, if so, what preventive action is being taken and the manner in which complaints of sexual harassment are being handled. The questionnaire was divided into five main sections. Respondents were asked about their knowledge regarding the legal responsibilities of an employer; their attitudes towards sexual harassment; support for union guidelines; attitudes towards measures of preventing and controlling incidents; organizational procedures currently in operation.
