Abstract:The conceptualization of leaders as reinforcement mediators is a relatively recent development. Accompanying this new approach has been the development and use of perceived leader reinforcement questionnaires. The most commonly used and reliable measure in this domain - the Leader Reward and Punishment Questionnaire (LRPQ). The results show good discriminant validity when LRPQ is factored with the Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaires' satisfaction with supervision's items. A consistent pattern of weak to moderate cross-loadings does exist, however, suggesting that inquiry which employs affectiver dependent variables may need to interpret cautiously the relationship obtained.
