| Abstract: | Internal market ministers' meeting in September 1998 affirmed their commitment to the single market action plan. All outstanding legislation should be fully implemented in the EMU member states by the January 1st, 1999. By European Commission announcement at the end of Sept. 1998, 15 % of single market legislation remained to be implemented in all member states, down from 18 % in June 1998 (EPA 3/98, p. 12). Denmark has implemented almost 99 %, Sweden and Finland are close behind. Of the Belgium's legislation, however, 7.2 % is still to be transposed. |
