| Abstract: | A model based decision support system is described that supports both the actual purchasing decisions and the bidding for projects, which have large purchasing requirements, and can provide users with an important competitive edge. Two scenarios of decision making may be supported by the decision support system. Under the first scenario, we already have a project to execute, and we are looking for a good way to manage the purchasing so as to minimize the expected costs. Under the other scenario, we are bidding for the project, and wish to assess the costs associated with the purchasing decisions that should be considered before making the bid. |
