Abstract: | A remarkable number of women hold HR director (hereafter as: dir/s.) positions with varying strategic integration (henceforth as: str-intgrn.) across countries. This article explores the impact of societal factors on the str-intrgn. of female HR dir/s. Analysed are the consequences of social policy practices (as: s-p-prcts.) making it easier for women to participate in work for the str-intgrn. of female HR dir/s. and additional effects resulting from the interplay btw. these practices etc. Based on a study of more than 980 companies with female HR dir/s. in 16 countries, it is found that while enabling s-p-prcts. are positively associated with str-intgrn. of female HR dir/s., related gender-egalitarian attitudes do not have a supporting effect. |
