Abstract:In many countries, knowledge retention is becoming a major challenge. Herein, questioned is the challenge of how organizations can minimize the loss of important knowledge while experiencing high levels of retiree. A framework for knowledge retention initiatives in organizations is suggested.
Using multi-case research and as the unit of analysis an organization, it is suggested that successful knowledge retention can be achieved in three primary stages: i. defining scope, ii. documenting (planning and implementation), and iii. integrating knowledge back into the organization etc.
