Abstract:The purpose of the paper is to address the problem of inconsistent findings by focusing on some variables that may help explain them, and by attempting to understand the variables that impact the process of group support system use. The research model is developed. Two group meetings were used to represent all the measured variables. The partial least squares method of analysis was used. It is shown that adaptive structuration theory indeed provides a convincing description of group support system process. The theory provides researchers with the understanding of the complexities of interaction between technology, groups and tasks that make the varied outcomes of GSS use so hard to understand.
