Abstract:All company contributions to pension plans are halted, too, in the contract, and retirees are hit with a new health care premium of USD 280 a month, according to the union. "Three or four years down the road, we could be paying the company to work here," McGrady says. "Moonlight's competitors near Lancaster are using migrant labor," says a mushroom picker in the next booth. "Moonlight's plant in Florida hires Cubans and Mexicans at minimum wage. That's what they want here." Current hourly wages at moonlight range from USD 5.60 to USD 9.70 per hour, plus productioin bonuses. The new contract leaves hourly wages the same, but the bonuses are cut.
