Abstract: | This paper investigates whether the perceived visioning behaviours (hereafter as: vis-beh./vis-behs.) of leaders influence the burnout (here as: b-o.) process experienced by their followers. There is a structural equation model used to examine these relationships (here as: r-ship./r-ships.) using a sample of 480 senior managers of an Australian organization of law enforcement. Differences in the r-ships btw. the two factors of vis-beh. and aspects of b-o. were identified. Inspirational motivation (concept-based) (here as: insp-mot.) reduced the central factor of b-o., that is, emotional exhaustion (psychological strain). Insp-mot. (image-based) had a positive effect on personal accomplishment (self) and reduced depersonalization. |
