| Abstract: | The "second industrial revolution" radically altered the situation of chemical and electrical industries. They became "science based industries". How this change was reflected in the organisational standing of industrial laboratories, how they were used in fight for larger market share in an ever more cartellising environment is demonstrated on the examples of General Electric, Bell, AT&T, Siemens, Philips and British electric industry. |
