Abstract:Comparative economics examines differences in economic behavior across space and time both to illustrate economic theories and to question their validity. Comparative macro provides perspective for the coverage of monetary policy. Comparative micro for example helps link the treatment of international competitiveness with that of business profitability, entry and exit. A rich area for comparative micro is in labour economics.
