Abstract:A study of the pervasive impact of multi-access technologies (hereafter as: m-a-t/s.), i.e. the Internet, wireless data etc. on consumer electronic auctions (here as: c-el-as.) was performed in the Dutch market. In this paper, the analytic generalizability of the research findings is extended through a replication study in the emerging markets of China. By comparing the empirical research findings, there is found no significant difference in the impacts of m-a-ts. on c-el-as. within dissimilar contexts. The argument of the use of more sophisticated m-a-ts. having positive effects on the maturity level of exchange processes and stakeholders interactions in c-el-as. is affirmed, thereby leading to an increase in the expected auctions' success.
