Abstract:In this article, a social cognition framework is employed in order to study moral awareness of managers and academics in business situations. Managers' and academic professors' in the United States are participants in a study that compares their recall, recognition and ascription of the importance of issues related to moral and strategy. The findings indicate that managers' recall of strategy-related issues is better than moral-related issues. Managers also ascribe moral-related issues less than academic professors. The results further reveal an inverse relationship between business context socialization and moral awareness.
