| Abstract: | China's conditions for a sustained rapid economic growth in the seventeen years to come are ripe. The growth of GNP in the "Ninety-Five Period" is expected to approximate 9 percent, and come to around 7.5 percent between 2001-2010. China's GNP is predicted to chalk up 4500 billion yuan by 2000, and 9250 billion by 2010. The gross volume of foreign trade will exceed 360 billion US$ by 2000, and 850 billion US$ by 2010. |
