Abstract: | In 1994, China's textiles and garments export volume reached US dollar 35.5 billion, 31% higher than that of last year, with a import-export trade surplus of US dollar 21.4 billion. Its main characteristics are: (1) The increase margin of import is higher than that of export and the import-export trade surplus mentioned as above is going downward; (2) On-the-spot trading and foreign invested enterprises' import & export are increasing by a great margin, but the barter trade as well as the frontier trade are declining rapidly; (3) High-class textile's export is obviously increased with a lightly declining garments export percentage; (4) The major market for export is starting to shift to Asia. |
