| Abstract: | The main factors influencing the central position of Hong Kong as an international trade center are the state of mainland's economic and trade development, the changes of Hong Kong's geographical and political factors, the situation of the adjustment of Hong Kong's industrial structure and the upgrading of manufacturing industry. However, Hong Kong has the advantageous objective conditions for the development of international trade and free trade system. It will continue to keep its central position in the international trade in the Far East. And trade will still be one of the pillars in Hong Kong's economy. But its export development will slow down gradually. Its commodity trade will shrink relatively while its service trade develops quickly. |
