| Abstract: | "South China growth triangle" is the base for carrying out foreign economic and trade cooperation in the 1990s and during the early 21 century. So the economic and trade cooperation across the Taiwan Straits Should be brought into line with the development plan of "South China growth triangle". After 10 years of development of the economic and trade relations across the Taiwan Straits, the mainland has become Taiwan's key trade partner and its major place for investment. In view of the new situation that both sides have adjusted their industrial structures, the economic and trade relations across the Taiwan Straits will have new features and also present new long-range perspective for development. Taiwan must regard the whole mainland as its "hinterland" in its economic development. |
