Abstract:China is rich in coal resource. Its coal deposits known have reached 890 billion tows, accounting for 80% of the total in the world. It is estimated that China's coal output will reach over 1.3 billion tons in 1996 and rise to between 1.40 billion tons and 1.45 billion tons by the year 2000 and reach 2.2 billion tons in the 15 years to come. According to America's forecast, by the year 2000, China's export quantum of coal will reach 50 million tons, becoming the world's fifth major coal exporting country and leaping to the third one by the year 2020.
