| Abstract: | Since the 1970's the total volume of Sino-European trade has grown rapidly. The bilateral trade volume of 1996 was more than 3 times that of 1975. During the period between 1981 to 1996, the contract sum of money for advanced technologies and equipment imported from EU countries amounted to $26.89 billion, constituting 48.8 percent of the total volume of our technology import. The benefits brought about by founding of ECU are mainly embodied within EU. As far as China is concerned, it is faced with more challenges in such aspects as capital flow, foreign debt, foreign exchange reserve and the financial industry. |
