| Abstract: | The World Trade Organization (WTO) has been established since January 1st, 1995. It serves both as an important achievement of Uruguay negotiation of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT), and as a major development after 47 years of GATT operation. It brings about a tremendous impact in the field of international economy together with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the International Bank of Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), and plays an irreplaceable and important role in resolving international trade dispute. In this article, the practical function of this mechanism of WTO to maintain the world economic and trade order and to resolve international trade dispute is analyzed through the review on the evolvement and development of the resolving mechanism from GATT to WTO. |
