| Abstract: | In 1998, Chinese export increase speed underwent consistently rapid decrease month by month, which reached the lowest point in 15 years. In 1999, China's export faces unusual severe external environment, however, brought along by domestic demands, import is liable to increase. So China aims at increase in both import and export, and import should be a little more than export in 1999. According to the estimation that there would be no global economic decline, China should continue to pursue the policy of stabilize RMB. Since processing trade export accounts more than 50% of China's total export volume, China should stabilize its processing trade policy in 1999, exploit the purchasing market in the processing region. |
