| Abstract: | In Fujian Province, the total foreign trade volume had been increased from $202 million in 1978 to $19.22 billion in 1998. The foreign trade structure has been a pluralized combination of diversified business entities including state foreign trade companies, industrial trade firms, self-operated import/export manufacturers, foreign -owned ventures, joint ventures and cooperative ventures and private business. To further promote such structure type, the state foreign trade companies should transfer the mechanism and improve their status and functions. Group companies should be encouraged and supported to enhance the strength of scale. Private business should be promoted to shape up the new increase point. |
