Abstract:The intention of this article is to focus upon employee remuneration and the role of accounting in redesigning reward systems. Central claim is that despite the recent trend of complementing of financial with non-financial forms of rewards, accounting has remained as a central and pervasive means in developing, justifying and mobilising support for the new reward systems.
