| Abstract: | This empirical survey study uses the United Nations (UN) Global Compact (GC) initiative as a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) mechanism to investigate why companies adopt environmentally responsible behaviour and how it impact on their performance. The results indicate that the company receives both ethical and economic benefits from joining the GC. |
