Abstract:A review of customer service quality in the U.S. and Singapore, ranging from consumer service in stores and goods to the services provided by American Express. The outstanding reputation of Singapore Airlines for customer service, training programmes, mechanization of customer service, and service strategies are referred to. A box gives companies that serve customers worst, and a graph of those that serve customers best, industry by industry. Another box opines that the role of the chief executive officer dictates the pattern of service provided.
