Abstract: | The market for computer games (ie games for playing on personal computers, as opposed to video games for playing on dedicated consoles) was worth 109m in 1994. The preferred format for computer games is rapidly becoming the CD-ROM. Sales of computer games players tend to be male, aged 16-35, while video games players tend to be aged 6-16. Games are making giant steps in sophistication, graphics, sound and general quality, but the central themes remain based on fantasy. |
