Abstract:This paper examines the 'post-bureaucratic' organizational restructuring in UK public sector. In addition, the study researches whether those changes have affected human resource management policies and practices. The data consists of surveys conducted in ten public sector authorities. The results show that certain changes have taken place. However, older functional lines of authority still exist. From manager's point of view, those changes have led to less secure working relationships.
