Abstract: | Challenges for occupational psychology and manufacturing management posed by robotization in modern industrial settings are examined. Psychological and social implications of new technologies are described and analyzed. The psychological and occupational problems typical to robotization are assessed in detail. The suitability of conventional intervention techniques for robot-related problems is investigated (e.g. job analysis, job enrichment, workgroup development, coaching, handling displacement). Variations in robot type, application and teaching method are listed. The existing problems (blocked promotion, decrease in social interaction, change in inner and outer rewards) give ample work to psychologists in the future. |
