Abstract:The Danish government has finally reached an agreement with opposition parties over its bill on advertising on local TV stations.Under the bill, local TV stations will have to survive on either 5 minutes a day or up to 5% of daily broadcasting time. Now they are precluded from taking ads from religious and other interest groups. Though the stations received the agreement with mixed feelings, it is the first time that the government has faced the issues of commercial television.
