Countertrade policy of the People's Republic of China /PRC/ practices, problems and trends were recently surveyed by the Association for the Compensation of Commercial Exchange /ACECO/. According to ACECO Chinese authorities favour counter-trade as a tool to accomplish several objectives. PRC counter-trade is dominated by compensation agreements. Countries involved in counter-trade with China and a number of transactions are listed. Types of counter-trade used are presented. Chinese imports and exports of goods are analysed by final disposition and by degree of processing. |
