| Abstract: | This article studies bidding behaviour in competing auctions by using a model, where bidders can participate in several auctions at the same time, bidding for a number of substitutable goods. The evidence is from online auctions data from eBay. The results suggest that a considerable proportion of bidders do bid across competing auctions and behave like the competing auctions theory predicts. |
